Your old computer may not be much use to you, but there are a lot of people out there who can keep it alive and prevent it from adding to another landfill

If you h ave a useable computer that simply isn’t state of the art any more, but is till capable of surfing the internet and doing all of the small things like sending emails, sending along pictures and attachments, why not consider donating it to an old age home, or to an older person that you know.

Particularly at the holiday times, may older persons would love to stay in touch with family members who may not be able to come home for the holidays.

Offering them your computer and a few hours of your time to teach them how to operate it might be just the thing to brighten their holiday, and yours too.

In fact the use of computers by older people is on a wide upsurge, with about fifty percent of the people over the age of sixty now owning a computer or using one at a local library or other venue. Giving them one in their home might help them out a lot. It will get rid of something you can’t use, and give them something that they can.

Don’t just throw it away. . . donate it somewhere that it will remain useful and help an older adult to feel useful too.
