What to Research When You Buy that New Home
We are all anxious to get moved into that new house. I was. I bought my house on the internet, Sight unseen and got a truly great bargain. But.. I took the time to check it out very completely and find out all the things you might not know about a new house even if you visited it twenty times.
Whether it’s a newly built home, or a gated community, we can’t wait to buy it and get moved into that oh so convenient atmosphere. Before you do plunk down that wad of cash take a good look at what you might be buying.
In this case I don’t mean to look into the workings of the home. Though that too is a necessity if you want to purchase the best value for your money, however there are other issues that need a good hard look as well.
When you purchase a new home, you not only purchase brick and stone, but all the baggage that goes with it. That is true whether you buy it online, offline, any which way, get a solid glance at the atmosphere. Ask for neighbors names and speak with them about your concerns and what they love about the area.. and what they don’t love.
Take a good look at your neighborhood. Whether its in photos or in person, really check it out.
The new home has to have neighbors if it is in fact a neighborhood and not just a stand alone home.
Factors which will help you make a wise choice about purchasing your home aside from the actual home itself, will be its placement in the community, the neighbors that will be part of that community, where are the best schools and facilities that your family makes use of each and every day.
The neighbors and neighborhood will be a big factor in how well you like your new area.
If your neighbors hate dogs, and you have three, chances are there are going to be problems from the beginning in your newly constructed home and castle.
Take the time to speak with the people who will live near you.
Find out what they like and dislike by subtle questions designed to elicit this information. Conversations about the school system, and how your children will get there will also help you to make an informed decision on the new home purchase.
Getting the real information from people who have lived in the area about your other neighbors will be easily obtained simply by asking how happy they are with their neighbors, and if there are other children in the area for your kids to visit and interact with.
Question them about the bus system in the area to be certain that there is a means for your kids to get to school in inclement weather, should you be unable to take them.
Some school systems do not run bus transportation, and this is something you will need to know.
Be sure you have all the information you need to make a wise choice about purchasing your new home to be sure that you will be happy there. If you’re not sure, hold on to that money and keep looking.
You want to love your new home, not just like it.
Great idea, hadn’t ever thought of buying a house online but it makes perfect sense and saves a lot of travelling and as long as you do your research thoroughly it would work.
LOL John G. I did it. it was a real kick. I enjoyed, I’m living in it and I absolutely love the place. One of the best moves I ever made.
